Quote

Il ne faut pas toucher aux idoles; la dorure en reste aux mains.

Autumn "Gold" Leaves

Il ne faut pas toucher aux idoles; la dorure en reste aux mains.

This french quote depicts  so much of my life. If I had to pick just ONE quote, this would be the quote that, to me, makes sense of everything that takes place around us. In english the translation is;

We must not touch our idols, the guilt comes off in our hands.

To me, this quote signifies the importance of cherishing life and accepting everyone for who they are as a whole, and not looking too closely at solely the only thing we may idolize about a person. If we look too closely, we will always find imperfections, which will damage our perception of our idols (i.e. popular boy/girl or a mentor).

This quote also than means that sometimes, ignorance is bliss. We don’t need to know everything about a person, somethings are meant to be kept private for a reason. Everyone has their secrets, and until one is ready to divulge those secrets with you, they are probably best kept in the closet.
